In spite of the foreboding and swan songs concerning the future of photojournalism: they will not fade away, the young dedicated photographers who, equipped with the basic tools of photography Ö a camera and black-and-white film Ö set out to provide those staying at home with authentic pictures of wars, crises and conflicts.

Leica World presents one of them in its latest issue:


Claus Bjørn Larsen, born 1963 in Denmark, member of the editorial team of the renowned Danish newspaper Berlingske Tidende since 1996.


His series about refugees in Kosovo brought him international recognition.


The photographer had deliberately reached for his LEICA M6 in order to get close to the action for dramatic, authentic pictures.


This year, several World Press Photo Prizes were his reward for journalistic dedication.
